Stress occurs when life events surpass your abilities to cope. It causes your body to produce greater levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
In short spurts, cortisol can boost your immunity by limiting inflammation. But over time, your body can get used to having too much cortisol in your blood. And this opens the door for more inflammation, Dr. Calabrese says.
In addition, stress decreases the body’s lymphocytes — the white blood cells that help fight off infection. The lower your lymphocyte level, the more at risk you are for viruses, including the common cold and cold sores.
High stress levels also can cause depression and anxiety, again leading to higher levels of inflammation. In the long-term, sustained, high levels of inflammation point to an overworked, over-tired immune system that can’t properly protect you.
Chronic inflammation can last months or years, even after the first trigger is gone.
What are some examples of what might cause Long Term Stress:
War
Riots
Shootings
Accidents
Physical assault
Sexual attack
Abortions
Divorce
Occult ritual abuse
Witchcraft
Intense medical procedures
Drug abuse
Mental illness
Manipulation and control
Divorce
Ungodly self image
Loss of a child
Loss of employment
Homelessness
Depression
UNFORGIVENESS
Healing Scriptures Healing has not ceased:
[Heb 13:8 NKJV] 8 Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Healing is often a journey (although I will take the instant kind any day)
[Psa 23:4 NKJV] Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You [are] with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
[Luk 11:11 NKJV] 11 “If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if [he asks] for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?”
Believe what you are – the Daughter/Son of the King and that He only wants to give you good things.
He healed all who asked: (by coming to a Healing Room, you are asking)
[Mat 12:15 NKJV] 15 But when Jesus knew [it], He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.
Healing Rooms are so effective because they allow the Holy Spirit to point out to the client and Prayer Team what issues need to be healed. We do not do counseling.]
[1Co 14:1-3, 39 NIV] Paul speaking: 1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. 2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. 3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. … 39 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.
It is not uncommon for a Team member or a Client to get a “Word” (knowledge you get from God) that mentions a particular subject and others get more on the subject.
Righteousness
[Mat 5:6, 10 NKJV] 6 Blessed [are] those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
[Mat 6:33 NKJV] 33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
[Jas 5:16 NKJV] 16 Confess [your] trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
[1Pe 3:12 NKJV] 12 For the eyes of the LORD [are] on the righteous, And His ears [are open] to their prayers; But the face of the LORD [is] against those who do evil.”
So, how do we become righteous? Are we not already the Righteousness in Christ?
[Mat 25:46 NKJV] 46 “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.“
Yes, we who are Born Again have Christ’s Righteousness and have eternal life. But [Rom 3:10 NKJV] As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;
15 “But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
We are to pursue (hunger and thirst for) righteousness. Our own righteousness, in becoming like Christ.
Lord’sprayer
[Mat 6:9-15 NKJV] 9 “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as [it is] in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts (sins), As we forgive our debtors (those who have sinned against us).
13 And do not lead us into temptation, (an enticement to sin), But deliver us from the evil one (Satan). For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, (a sin, misdeed), your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
Which leads to the conclusion that if you do not Forgive, you will not be Forgiven. Why would God require us to Forgive? Because he wants us to be free of sin…
[Pro 23:7 NKJV] 7 For as he thinks in his heart, so [is] he.
Having been in the Healing Room since 2007, the Lord gradually gave me the following prayer path, to help guild people into forgiving people as Jesus has forgiven us. The key being to be healed of the hurt that caused the unforgiveness in the first place.
Take a quick look at the path below, then I will give the scriptures that are the foundation of each step.
Hurt and pain come in all configurations. First, we get hurt a little, then we protect our heart, we get hurt some more; we protect our hearts more, Like with concrete and then armor plate.
Most Christians know the Lord’s Prayer, and try to mentally go from the Hurt to Forgiveness. Sorry, that is not real Forgiveness and will not stick. It is NOT a function of the mind but of the HEART!
I often jokingly say: “So, have you forgiven So, and So? Yes, I forgave him last year, last month, I forgave the SOB yesterday!”
What is, Anger, Hurt, Pain? It is Sin. Sin that has been passed on from generation to generation since Adam and Eve.
Hurt Anger Emotional Pain
[Deu 5:9 NKJV] 9 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them (other gods). For I, the LORD your God, [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity (sins) of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth [generations] of those who hate Me,
We have all heard stories of someone arrested for sexual child molestation, who when asked if they had been molested and the answer is, “Yes, regularly.”
Or when the alcoholic was asked if that addiction was a problem for other members of his family and the response is, “Yes, my father, grandfather, great-grandfather where all alcoholics; we are Irish you know…”
And then there is the hardest sin to forgive, your own.
Hurt Anger Emotional Pain
In the Spirit, and with the Team and Client praying, we invite the Client to envision Jesus.
Giving Him whatever Pain has already been revealed. [Please do not say, “Lord take this from me.”] Very seldom did Jesus randomly heal someone. People always came to Him and asked. To give this pain up, that has been part of your identity for a long time, is another form of surrender to Him.
[1Pe 2:24 NKJV] 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.
[Mat 11:30 NKJV] 30 “For My yoke [is] easy and My burden is light.“
We were never supposed to carry this pain… for you it was enormous, look what happens to it in His hands!
Envision Jesus
Our trip to Forgiveness
[Mat 11:28-30 NKJV] 28 “Come to Me, all [you] who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 “For My yoke [is] easy and My burden is light.“
[1Jo 1:9 NKJV] 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
At this point, imagine handing the Hurt and Pain to Jesus. Because we were never meant to carry that load. He died so that all sin is conquered.
Envision Jesus
Throw it into the Sea of Forgetfulness
[Heb 8:12 NKJV] 12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
[Heb 10:17 NKJV] 17 [then He adds], “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
[Psa 103:12 NKJV] 12 As far as the east is from the west, [So] far has He removed our transgressions from us.
[Mic 7:19 NKJV] 19 He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
[Heb 8:12 NKJV] 12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.“
[Heb 10:17 NKJV] 17 [then He adds], “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.“
Note: At the moment we are talking about casting the evil/sins that were done to you, into the Sea; but this prayer path also works for forgiving yourself (and maybe even God) as well. [You would not believe how many people need to forgive God, because He did not do what they wanted or thought was right.]
Note: The Sea of Forgetfulness, just like the Trinity are widely used and accepted theological constructs. If you search your Bible app, you will discover nothing comes up for either one, yet we know them to be true.
Watch that bundle Pain sink below the waves!
Lord, where the pain was, fill me with Your Love
At this point, we just sit here for a while, letting the Holy Spirit minister.
[Rom 8:39 NKJV] 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
[1Jo 4:8 NKJV] 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
[2Co 3:8 NLT] 8 Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life?
[2Co 13:14 YLT] 14 the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, [is] with you all! Amen.
Lord, show me their brokenness
If the person you are forgiving is well known to you, you may already know the answer to this question. But even if you do, the Lord may show you a different way of looking at the person.
For example: that mean dad that came home and slammed you against the wall when you were 10 (and you hadn’t done anything wrong), just because he wants you to really know who is in charge; inside is a little boy who is scared of losing his family. Obviously, he is taking the wrong approach, but given how he was raised, it is all he knows.
Again, we sit here for a while, until the client gets a picture or understanding of the person being forgiven brokenness.
[Mar 1:41 KJV] 41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth [his] hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
[Mat 14:14 KJV] 14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
[Luk 7:12-15 NLT] 12 A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her. 13 When the Lord saw her, His heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” he said. 14 Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” he said, “I tell you, get up.” 15 Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother.
Since Christ has compassion for those who are broken (you, me and the person you are forgiving), so should we have compassion on those we are forgiving.
Forgive
Now you can say, “I Forgive.” And it will stick, because the pain is gone, and you now have, at least concerning this issue, God’s Love in your heart. And some empathy for the Perpetrator.
Now that you know how to forgive, you can expect God to pop into your mind, other people or events you need to Forgive…just keep using the path again and again.
Now that you have forgiven, you can pray for your enemies.
[Mat 5:44 NKJV] 44 “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
You will be able to maintain your Forgiveness by praying for those that hurt you.
